  1. This meeting included the hiring of Special Ed and Psychology positions at $80,000 a year (sans benefits). These costs I am assuming are towards the the apex of the salary scale. Board members did not bat an eye. Later on this board returned to their refrain of lowering costs by creating a committee to address attrition through the new teacher hiring process. As an Ag Ed board, one would think that this body would be familiar with the futility of, “shutting the gate after the animals have left the barnyard.”
