Lies and inaccuracies from Jonathan Moore, Chairman, Region 1 Board Representative from Kent Reply

Please read below the  start of  Jonathan Moore’s letter to the Litchfield County Times

To the Editor:
Where have the students gone? At the Region 1 board’s recent budget workshop, there was no substantive talk about the students. The refrain was simply, you need to listen to US, the angry few!

For over a year the Region 1 board has grappled with increased per-pupil costs due to decreased enrollment

Our reaction?

Mr. Moore’s statement: The refrain was simply, you need to listen to US, the angry few!

Our response: We are not angry, we are not few, we are taxpayers who simply want a say in the way the district is run, as we PAY for it….

Total Budget Vote  YES 452 NO 623 1075

Another statement from Mr. Moore: For over a year the Region 1 board has grappled with increased per-pupil costs

Our response: Another lie from Mr. Moore. Over the course of the last year 3 administrative positions we added to the budget, and the talk about cutting staffing (teachers) came up at the fiddling-while-rome-burnslast-minute. Look at all the videos from the past year, they speak the truth about the boards actions, not the disinformation that Mr. Moore is spitting out now after three defeated budgets.

Once again, this letter shows the total disregard for taxpayers, teachers, and students..this board needs to be replaced, and Mr. Moore should resign his chairmanship as he is not capable of listening to the public, never mind that  his knowledge of how to run a meeting and his knowledge of Roberts Rules are both  non-existent.

Re-post this, pass it along to voters, it is another shining example of why this budget MUST be defeated again
