FALLS VILLAGE — After a poor showing of achievement on report cards, Housatonic Valley Regional High School Principal Matthew Harnett outlined Monday to the Region 1 Board of Education the steps he’ll implement to increase student success. Member Gale C. Toensing of Falls Village asked for the report after the first marking period grades were released that showed 37 seniors, or 40 percent of the class, received at least one failing grade. Failures were also on the report cards of 38 juniors, or 32 percent of that class; 41 sophomores, or 41 percent of the class; and 20 freshmen, or 28 percent of the class.
