Residents say Region 1 fails in listening skills Budget defeats reflect voter anger BY ALEXA GORMAN REPUBLICAN-AMERICAN Reply

FALLS VILLAGE — After five failed votes, the Region 1 Board of Education held a budget workshop Wednesday to hear comments from the public.

The board proposed a $3,057 increase to a $14,449,342 proposed budget. This would decrease spending by 1.63 percent.

The fifth budget proposal, which was rejected by 144 votes, would have decreased spending by 1.65 percent.

Comments heard at the meeting suggested a repeat theme of this contentious budget season: Residents feel the administration and school board are not listening to their concerns. Champ Perotti, vice chairman of Region 1 Athletic Fund, said the community’s outlook on the schools is reflected in the outcomes of the votes.

What if they held a Region One Board Meeting and no one showed up? **CUTS OF $430,000+ TO THE HIGH SCHOOL BUDGET, AN INCREASE OF ALMOST $212,000 TO THE ADMINISTRATION Reply

Simple facts about the Region One budget workshop on the evening of September 4th.
Both the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent were absent..
No representative from Salisbury (simply the town with the most weighted votes in the region) came again (2nd time in the last two budget workshops)..
NO, we repeat NO action taken by the Board Of Education (just the implementation of  $18.942.00 of additional cuts from the business manager) of which $37,337.000 came from the reduction of finance charges(see attached memo)
So, once again, after SIX (6) votes, the board sends back the same budget as last time, except…with the full new 3 year additional contract again added back for the Superintendent.
Please watch this video, please send this video to your friends and neighbors. This meeting, number 6 on this budget is a sad and sorry example of a board not only out of touch with the public, but with themselves. It is stunning testimony as to why this budget must be defeated once again.

CUTS OF  $430,000+ TO THE HIGH SCHOOL BUDGET, AN INCREASE OF ALMOST $212,000 TO THE ADMINISTRATION…WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

Another appointment…did board of education members get told about this one in advance?! 1

Liam O’Rielly has been appointed  interim Assistant Principal as Interim Principal Ian Strever picked his assistant as he requested at the special Region One Board of Education Meeting last week.

As in a post by Pat  Mechare on regiononereport.com the question is, once again did the board of education find out about this on-line (as they did with the A.D.Silhouette-question-mark), or were they told in advance?

Well board members (we know you read the report! ), were you informed in advance, or did you find out on-line like you did on the A.D.?

This was sent to Region One Report today…..if true statistics, makes you wonder what Mr. Harnett was talking about… 21

This was sent to Region One Report today…..if true statistics, makes you wonder what Mr. Harnett was talking about… (not having kids for teachers to teach, especially if there are MORE students this year than last!)

The student enrollment at HVRHS at the end of last year was 408, I believe. Not more than 410, I’m sure. The student enrollment today is 433.images (2)
