The note from Ian at H.Y.R.H.S says….
Harvard School of Education professor Dr. Doug Reeves will be at Housatonic on Tuesday evening for talks on the new grading system at 4:30 and 7 PM. Ian referred to him as Harvard School of Education professor..THAT IS INCORRECT…he has twice been named to the Harvard University Distinguished Authors Series, that is quite a difference.
Well, anyway here are some articles to “bone” up on for his appearance….just a question: Thi s is undoubtedly costing Region One (and thus YOU the Taxpayers money!). Don’t you think they could have found someone with not so quite a educationally questioned background? I found someone who lives right here in Salisbury….
Defendant in Child Assault Case Served Time For Fraud
Douglas Reeves, a former Swampscott resident, author and international education consultant served time in federal prison in the early 1990s.
This April 10, 2014 article by Catherine Gewertz from “Education Week” covers the acquittal but notes as well that Houghton Mifflin Harcourt ended its relationship with Dr. Reeves.

Then there’s this 2011 post, “The ‘90/90/90 Schools’ Myth,” from Justin Baeder, a blogger for “Education Week,” that questions Reeves’ findings specifically. Below this article are two additional articles critical of so-called “miracle” schools that claim to have rapidly boosted student performance. These articles are extremely relevant, and quite critical of what the authors view as exploitation by for-profit educational companies ultimately unable to maintain their claims of high speed, high level growth.

We know a local supporter of this type of grading system who is willing to speak to local parents on why it was the implantation of the program as to why it is failing. If enough parents show interest, we can set up a local Q and A with her so you can get information that is not biased, or paid for by Region One.
Dr. Douglas Reeves is the founder of Creative Leadership Solutions. The author of more than 30 books and 80 articles on leadership and organizational effectiveness, Doug has twice been named to the Harvard University Distinguished Authors Series.
How dare you accuse Dr.Vogel of not being frugal with tax dollars! She could have spent big bucks and brought in a convicted child abuser.
Please read this fascinating article that also mentions Pam Vogel’s incoming educational consultant. If you can not just connect – please copy and paste
