Here are the new SAT scores for Region One..tell me why the board approves an extension for our superintendent? 2

SAT scores dropped below 500 for the first time in 4 years for ELA. (Math dropped from 529 to 482 as well).

Full article in The Hartford Courant….these are the LOWEST SAT scores of any region school district in Connecticut. This should  help you understand why the Region One grammar schools send only 58% of the students graduating  to H.V.R.H.S!

Connecticut State Statute Sec. 10-232. Restrictions on employment of members of board of education. Notwithstanding the provisions of any special act to the contrary, no member of the board of education shall be employed for compensation by the board of which he or she is a member in any position in the school system. If any member of such board is employed contrary to the provisions of this section, the office to which he or she was elected or appointed shall become vacant. Reply

Sec. 10-232. Region One Board has voted to defer action on Pam Vogel’s 2 year extension
