Ian Strever offered Top Job at H.V.R.H.S. 9
This news from Robin Hood Radio: The Region One BOE (the search committee) has offered the position of Principal of HVRHS to Ian Strever. Ian accepted the offer at the meeting.There will be a meeting tomorrow morning to announce the offer of the position

Once again, in the executive session they had before the April R1 Board meeting, they interviewed Strever and came out to vote themselves as the principal search committee.
This link is to a clip from the Kent BOE from last night. Lisa Carter was there for Vogel. She is asked if the HVRHS Principal job had been posted. She answers by indicating that they will be interviewing Strever for the job this coming Wednesday at their special meeting and possibly hiring him ???????????
We are not sure why they have been making this such a dog and pony show, but they have.

FALLS VILLAGE — A group of Region 1 parents and community members gathered Wednesday to vent their frustrations about the new grading system.
The system calls for allowing no student to fail, so those receiving a grade of 70 or below get a “not yet proficient,” or NYP, and must prove they understand the material before that mark can be raised. Students can do assignments continuously or retake tests to bring up that mark.

Jonathan Moore has resigned from the Region One Board Of Education as Kent representative… it happened last night at a board meeting at Housatonic. (In our opinion,Mr.Moore, along with Phil Hart led the successful effort to remove the public from any decisions in Region 1. They worked more for CABE than for Region One.) .

FALLS VILLAGE — Upset with the grading system initiated this school year at Housatonic Valley Regional High School, and feeling their concerns are not being heard by the Region 1 school board and administration, a group of parents has scheduled a meeting for April 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Center on Main, 103 Main St. Denise Cohn of Falls Village said she and four other parents are organizing the meeting to allow those discontented with the grading system to air their thoughts. It is open to parents, students and anyone else interested in attending.
