Ms. Marilyn Yerks, Region One Board Member From Sharon makes a great observation, makes a great point, and is shut down. The question remains…did the Region One Board Of Education act illegally by not following thru on the motion they passed to ask the administration ( not the A.B.C) to re-open their contracts? 3

  2. I don’t know the answer to your question, but one thing is certain: The superintendent once again exceeded her authority and made an end run around the board’s jurisdiction by handing over the board’s motion to the ABC Committee to decide. She has carefully cultivated the support of that committee as a buffer between herself and opposition on the board, but particularly of specific individual members through quid pro quo actions — she does things for them behind the scenes and gains their unconditional support.
Pingpank describes the strategy. . .

  3. The superintendent’s lack of understanding of the function and limitations of the All Boards Committee and/or her deliberate effort to misinform those whom she knows will not actually read the policy is breathtaking. That the majority of the Region One Board let’s het get away with it unbelievable. When is the Region One Board and the chairs of the local boards going to realize they are being duped? Mr. Moore’s elevation to the position of chairman has only heightened his arrogance in the manner in which he deals with public concerns. Disgusting!
